Retiree's tag
Jan 01, 2012 (20:14:00)
A couple of other items to update you on.
, I have attached a sample of the "Retired Firefighter" tag that will become available to retiree's after January 1, 2012. The retirees name will need to be on the master list that is used now for tags to get one or will need a letter. I know that their will be some names left off the list, there always are a few, but hopefully our locals through out can assist their retired ff's with getting any names left off put back on. The tag attached is not exact but very close.
Fraternally,
Steve Pegues

LA Brother
Jun 07, 2010 (10:09:39)
Dear Sisters & Brothers,
Fire Fighters Local 561 of Lake Charles, LA, lost one its own this past Thursday. Brother Nathan Garner suffered a heart attack due to the chemotherapy treatments he was receiving while fighting lymphoma. He was 40 years old.
Nathan was a quiet, gentle man. There is not a single person in this world that could ever say anything negative about his character. He was respectful, caring, hardworking, and everything else that we strive to be in order to say that we are good people. Nathan was a loving husband and father. He leaves behind a wife, a five year old son, a four year old daughter and a two year old daughter.
Brother Garner's family, much like many of our own, was not prepared for this tragic event. With no life insurance and little outside assistance to be had, life will be tough for the family in the coming days. We as a local have stepped up our efforts in order to help out the Garner family in order to ease some of their burden. We have set up the
Nathan Garner Memorial Fund
Capital One Bank
3225 Ryan St.
Lake Charles, LA 70601
account number is 2079531769
We ask that if you are able to help financially that you please do so. Any and all donations are very welcome and extremely needed.
Lake Charles Local 561 at P.O. Box 5284, Lake Charles, LA 70606
If you have any questions, please contact me at (337)515-3850. Thank all of you for your prayers for the Garner family and for your support.
